HOWARD THEATRE BUILDING
SUSTAINABLY DESIGNED
Combining neo-classical architecture with modern technologies, the Howard Theatre Building is a remarkable mix of old and new. Kindly donated by Dr Alan Howard, an Honorary Fellow of the College, this spectacular building was designed to high environmental standards by award-winning architects Quinlan & Francis Terry.
OVERVIEW
The Howard Theatre comprises the ground-floor Grace Howard Room, used for registration, refreshments, exhibitions and lunches.
The first-floor Theatre features tiered seats crafted from the finest Italian leathers, and a fully equipped AV Control Room, offering an excellent space for conferences and hybrid events.
The theatre building also contains two smaller meeting rooms accommodating up to 10 people for breakout sessions or an on-site office. The building is offered exclusively to our clients.
SUSTAINABILITY
The building has a number of environmentally sustainable features including ground-source heating and cooling throughout. Solar panels fitted to the Welsh slate roof provide an additional water heating source. The exterior structure is made from Ketton stone, giving the building grace and thermal efficiency. Rainwater harvesting is used for toilets and maintaining landscaping.
